The route visits the capital, Port Moresby, and stays on Loloata Island, at a resort where wallabies and birds of paradise live. Next is New Britain and Rabaul, then Mount Hagen. The Bougainville islands can be added.

NEW BRITAIN
Rabaul.
Next, New Britain and Rabaul: a climb of the active volcano Tavurvur, Japanese tunnels from the Second World War, hot springs and traditional dances.
MOUNT HAGEN
Mount Hagen.
Then Mount Hagen: mountain landscapes, parks, watching birds of paradise, sing-sing and nights in lodges. The frames below are from the Highlands, August 2024.
